MEET AND GREET WITH LOGICAL

Fedruckers
This large bar is decorated in garish yellow and bright blue, with rows of tables filled with raucous diners.
Hordes of small children, many of them green and some with tentacles, cluster around the latest arcade machine, "Martian Invasion", which makes the most peculiar hooting and hammering noises. This makes it hard to hear the names being called over the loudspeaker.

Examine Manufacturer Logical
Logical is wearing a black tuxedo, white shirt, and a powder blue tie (matching his eyes). A blue carnation is pinned to the lapel and he's wearing a black top hat.

Muttering, "I don't understand what you're talking about, Averatec has just arrived.

Andrew winks, " no worries Averatec, I don't know what I'm saying either ;)"

Averatec says, "i don't think that anyone does"

Andrew winks, "you're a brave vic...um err Man to voluteer for tinight Logical ;)"

Andrew says, "tonight even"

Logical says, "Who said I volunteered? More like drafted (c:="

Angelfowl laughs

Andrew laughed

Angelfowl says, "You weren't drafted, I asked you :P"

Andrew says, "you could have went to Canada instead :P"

Angelfowl says, "And after a little prodding (sp?) you said yes"

Logical winks, "She thinks this will be the chance for her to duct tape me to the chair ;)"

Angelfowl grins

Angelfowl says, "Heck yes :P"

Logical says, "Probably her only chance, ever :|"

Andrew says, "ah, she wouldn't dare, not if she wants her allowance :P"

Logical laughs

Angelfowl asks, "What Allowance?"

Meteu smiles, "Thats why I'm going to be the one taping you down, actually I'm using ratchet straps:)"

Angelfowl has never gotten an allowance

Angelfowl exclaims, "hey now!"

Logical laughs

Angelfowl exclaims, "I got the duct tape all ready!"

Logical says, "I guess I'll have to make sure all that new music today doesn't make it to your shuffle then"

Angelfowl exclaims, "Not fair!"

Logical asks, "Who says allowance is money?"

Meteu says, "Angel would you please see to it that our guest is uh comfortable."

Angelfowl grins

Angelfowl walks over and starts to duct tape Logical arms to the chair

Logical winks, "Watch the tux ;)"

Angelfowl grins, "Yeah yeah,"

Andrew exclaims, "I hope he finished his chicken first Angel!"

Angelfowl says, "I think so :P"

Meteu asks, "Are we ready to get started?"

Logical smiles, "It was very good Andrew :)"

Logical nods

Andrew bows ansd smiles

Meteu says, "As a professor of mine used to say, silence means consent."

Angelfowl sits down

Meteu asks, "Welcome Logical, how are you tonight?"

Logical winks, "I'm fine, logically ;)"

Meteu says, "Why don't you tell us a little bit about your life here on Fed."

Logical says, "I'm currently a Manufacturer for the second time...ceo of Logical Solutions"

Logical says, "I was a 'forever financier' before the crash and I elected to start over afterwards"

Meteu asks, "Thats interesting, why did you decide to do that?"

Logical drawls, "When the crash happened, I had not been in the game regularly for a couple of months..."

Logical drawls, "I periodically have to step away for RL work..."

Meteu says, "That dang real life getting in the way."

Meteu asks, "You played Classic Fed didn't you?"

Logical says, "Yes, I started playing Classic Fed in 93-94"

Meteu says, "What was that like, if you could for those of us that never played Classic"

Logical says, "I think that was it...Angelfowl was barely waking, at the time"

Insomnius asks, "on Aries?"

Angelfowl rolls her eyes

Logical says, "I stumbled into the game when it made it's first appearance on AOL"

Insomnius says, "that would 95 then"

Logical nods

Logical says, "I thought it was 94, but it may have been 95"

Meteu asks, "What have you seen here that is different from Classic?"

Logical says, "I remember standing in the meeting point and wondering what in the world this was"

Logical says, "The help for new players is much better today"

Logical says, "I wandered around and gradually got my bearings...since AOL Fed required screen names for your fed name...some of the names were crazy"

Logical says, "Lots of numbers after some of them, you know"

Andrew asks, "what was you aol Fed name?"

Andrew says, "your name even"

Logical says, "I was LogicSolut...and LuthSchool"

Logical says, "LuthSchool came later...an alt...after I had a planet"

Meteu says, "If you have questions please hold them until the end."

Andrew says, "ok, sorry"

Logical says, "It was expensive to play until AOL went unlimited"

Logical winks, "But I played a fair amount ;)"

Logical says, "Mostly late at night"

Angelfowl nods

Meteu asks, "Where do you see Fed2 going in future?"

Logical says, "Obviously I'm anxious to see how the ranks work out"

Logical says, "I was rather found of my Duchy in Classic fed and I hope there is something similar here"

Logical winks, "I think it's nice having your own system...but it's harder to get friends when you can trade between your own planets using your own alts ;)"

Logical drawls, "In Fed 2..."

Logical asks, "Remember when everyone hung out in the lounge at the Guild?"

Angelfowl nods

Angelfowl was one of the loung junkies :P

Averatec says, "those were the days"

Logical says, "Then the planets went in and folks all hung out in their own world"

Averatec says, "oh wait, i wasn't around then i think"

Logical says, "In Classic Fed...you hung out with your Duchy mates and did all your trading with that group of planets"

Angelfowl nods

Angelfowl misses the lounge days

Logical laughs at Averatec

Logical says, "must have been in a previous life Averatec"

Logical says, "I certainly like many of the improvements"

Angelfowl asks, "Like?"

Logical says, "Less easy to race to the top...I always thought that the fun was the time along the way"

Angelfowl nods

Logical says, "I remember POs giving me Megs of groats for hauling"

Logical says, "Obviously...I've been in the game long enough to be a Gengineer...I think my financier before the crash had 48 cycles or so"

Angelfowl grins, "That's a lot,"

Logical says, "I am looking forward to a planet"

Meteu asks, "Do you hold any records in the Hall?"

Averatec says, "bout time Logical"

Logical winks, "I don't think I hold any 'Official Records', at least that I am aware of ;)"

Angelfowl giggles

Angelfowl says, "Finally you are getting your own planet, you can stop crowding mine :P"

Logical laughs

Averatec thinks that shorty needs to get her dis way down before Logical promotes

Angelfowl grins

Logical says, "I've actually started the design too....well there's, quite logically, a reason that I didn't get one going yet"

Angelfowl says, "Yeah, I know"

Meteu asks, "Logical what would you say is your most embarassing moment in Fed?"

Logical says, "The whole time I was a financier....I was hunting for the files for my old planet in classic fed"

Angelfowl winks, "But you never found them ;)"

Logical asks, "Would that be recently....in classic...or between the two?"

Insomnius says, "I know what that's like LOL"

Logical winks, "I still may find them one day ;)"

Logical says, "Most embarassing moments.....hmmm"

Angelfowl says, "After you have your planet :P"

Meteu says, "Both"

Averatec thinks that was letitng shorty play

Logical says, "Ok...that's a tough one....**covers Angelfowl's ears**"

Logical says, "I remember a hot tub party on Gossamer, I believe...Blaze"

Logical says, "Blaze's planet....(darned return instead of shift)."

Meteu asks, "Who or what was Blaze?"

Meteu says, "ah never mind"

Averatec chuckles

Logical says, "Blaze was a pirate .... player"

Logical says, "PO of Gossamer in Connor I do believe"

Averatec remembers Blaze's meets

Logical says, "And there were certain unexpected folks there when I came up out of the hot tub...not looking my best"

Logical says, "In those days there were spybeams and spyscreens...so I probably had other embarassing moments that I'm not to aware of"

Meteu asks, "What about here in Fed2?"

Logical winks, "It was pretty embarrasing to walk through the wrong door on titan when it has always been the wrong door ;)"

Logical says, "I think that I've had a dropped tb or two, particularly with Monodefuego, that have been right on the edge"

Logical winks, "He's always been a gentleman about covering for me ;)"

Angelfowl giggles

Logical says, "I used to use zMud and colored tb's different from coms"

Logical says, "that makes a world of difference when you are having multiple conversations"

Logical says, "I miss my teleporter the most....barons in Classic Fed could build them"

Meteu asks, "Have you ever been frustrated trying to find a planet?"

Logical asks, "Absolutely...Nomad's system...Wasteland?"

Logical says, "There are several others that I've gotten totally lost in"

Angelfowl giggles, "I bet."

Meteu says, "What is the most idiotic way you have died."

Logical drawls, "I was flying through sol, minding my own business.....typing at high speed, as I typically do...."

Blinx smiles

Logical drawls, "apparently forgot that my customs certificate had expired..."

Logical drawls, "headed from the link towards phobos and there was some lag..."

Fancy sees where this is heading...

Occy says, "oh dear"

Logical says, "it was painful to watch my ship fly the last se and e commands without my consent"

Logical says, "I knew them by heart"

Logical says, "I had a good ten seconds of lag...then I watched myself fly into the sun"

Logical says, "Of course in Classic Fed you could get shot down by Pegasus"

Logical says, "Or someone else if you had a bounty on your head"

Averatec thinks that the directions to the lounge on earth, and if you follow the same movements, will take you into the sun as well

Meteu asks, "Have you ever died in the radiation rooms on Titan after you knew they were there?"

Logical says, "There are several potentially lethal combinations, depending on where customs leaves you"

Averatec says, "no, i mean without customs getting involved"

Blinx smiles

Logical says, "Yes, several times....in both classic and fed 2...that's the stupid part"

Angelfowl giggles

Fancy drawls, "One too many souths..."

Logical says, "I remember trying every door, just to be sure"

Angelfowl winks, "I think you walked into them trying to do the Magellan puzzle ;)"

Meteu smiles, "I'm going to hand you over to Angelfowl for a few more questions now:)"

Logical says, "Yep...I was trying to get the magnet off the door and that did it too...good memory Angelfowl"

Angelfowl asks, "So, who are you friends in Fed2 now?"

Logical winks, "Well, obviously, you ;)"

Angelfowl says, "Yeah yeah, who else :P"

Logical says, "Several of them are here, in the audience"

Logical drawls, "Joe, Bourbon, Djentsch, Catspaws....."

Logical says, "Hate to leave anyone out....Monodefuego"

Logical says, "Lots of folks I have talked to that I like...I think Beandip is a hoot"

Meteu smiles, "walking snackfood:)"

Logical says, "Oddball...I think Silverhawk was in Classic and if he was...then I may know him"

Angelfowl giggles, "okay, so obviously, you went through Adventurer twice, and we know how much people don't like that rank... they actually have to explore Sol." grins, "But what was the most creative thing you did too pass time waiting for that shuttle on Venus." smiles

Logical frowns, "Several folks I liked in fed 2 aren't around much anymore :("

Angelfowl nods, and knows how that is

Logical drawls, "I didn't have so much of the shuttle the second time..."

Logical says, "But the first time....I tried to drink a beer...start to finish, while waiting on the shuttle"

Angelfowl laughs

Logical says, "Missed it the first time because I didn't want to type 'in' with wet hands"

Angelfowl smiles, "okay, well, I think that we should give the questions to the audience now :)"

Meteu smiles, "Was it a good beer?:)"

Logical says, "But the first time I did it, I think ya had to do 1000"

Angelfowl nods

Angelfowl says, "I did whatever the next lowest one was... 850"

Fancy says, "I think it was originally 750, then 650."

Logical says, "Yeah, they lowered it right after I did it"

Angelfowl smiles, "If you have a question raise your hand :)"

Angelfowl says, "I know that the hauling credits were lowered RIGHT after I promoted"

Logical says, "I think I did 1000 the first time, but Fancy may be right...it was 750 required."

Andrew raises his hand

Logical says, "I actually thought doing them was fun"

Andrew says, "when you made PO in Classic, did you do it by going through the Snark Puzzle"

Logical winks, "Yep, I still always try to slide shelves when I see them too ;)"

Averatec says, "that would be Duke i think that needed to do the Snark"

Fancy smiles, "I take it you've seen what happens if you try that in this Fed. :)"

Averatec says, "i don't remember doing the Snark to be a PO"

Averatec says, "but that was a long time ago"

Andrew says, "some called it the Journeyman puzzle"

Logical says, "Snark had to be completed for PO early on, I think it was broke for awhile, then back again"

Logical says, "You had to find the GM, and he would hide somewhere else if you logged out and in again'"

Andrew smiles, "yep :)"

Logical says, "I really like puzzles"

Logical says, "I enjoy those as much as most other things in the game"

Andrew says, "I has a Ghostools Macro to find the GM...good ole Ghostools"

Andrew says, "I had even"

Logical says, "I would suggest that he was in the reactor on titan..if folks asked"

Meteu asks, "Do we have any other questions fron the audience?"

Andrew laughs

Insomnius asks, "What was your planet name in old fed?"

Logical winks, "The last I played I was the baron of Paradigm in Connor ;)"

Andrew smiles, "I remember Conner :)"

Insomnius nods

Logical says, "I wound up in Connor as a hauler and the PO's there were nice to me"

Logical says, "taught me a lot....and I thought the world of Duke Ops"

Racingnut remembers connor

Andrew says, "Ops was A good man, gave me great advice on how to run my Duchy"

Logical says, "He had the book on it ....the rules in Connor made it a very profitable place to be"

Andrew smiles, "you're bringing back alot of fond memories tonight :)"

Logical says, "I was sad when Ops stepped away...he left his planet and passed it to Jonathan of Corf, I believe"

Logical says, "And Connor stayed alive a long while after that...but Ops was the best"

Andrew says, "yes he was, he named is planet Conner after his son"

Meteu asks, "What did duchy's do?"

Andrew says, "Duchy's were allowed to have 20 other planets in them"

Logical says, "Duchies were groups of planets in the same system"

Logical says, "The highest level...like a private solar system"

Logical says, "goods were taxed leaving or entering the duchy, so you traded in the duchy to save money"

Occy says, "then there was the senate"

Insomnius says, "and you had your own com in the duchy."

Logical says, "com channels worked within duchies too"

Fancy says, "Being in a duchy also had the advantage of reducing a planet's gross receipts tax from 25% to 10%."

Andrew says, "they never put the Senator rank in I don't think"

Logical says, "Economically you had different planets too"

Niedermeyer says, "They did, but they were just game admins"

Occy says, "they did i was one"

Andrew says, "ah"

Niedermeyer says, "There was a senator that would get on his alt and give me groats :P"

Logical says, "Like a system now, except all the planets in it were owned by different players"

Logical says, "Yeah, the Senate came later and I wasn't in the game a lot by that point."

Occy says, "it was a way to solve the proble of to many planets"

Logical says, "There were an awful lot of planets, especially when the duke puzzle was broken"

Insomnius says, "wasn't an admin rank, was more of a honore player rank"

Niedermeyer says, "It was hard though cause the Duke puzzle was broken for so long that it was hard to get in a duchy"

Andrew says, "yeah and Duchies would get top heavy with too many Barons and not enough Thane's"

Insomnius says, "I remember being held back from promoting."

Insomnius chuckles

Logical says, "Yeah, I had worked hard in Connor and so I got to move there right away...I was surprised that Ops had saved a spot for me"

Meteu says, "If thats all the questions for the night we are going to wrap up for the evening."

Logical says, "I didn't have to spend any time as a PO outside of a duchy"

Logical says, "It was basically a vacation world with different types of resorts in different climates....there was a ski slope (were you could get hurt)....a beach world ...a grand hotel that...if you could solve the puzzle....you could step through a door into any of the 5 vacation worlds"

Averatec says, "thanks"

Logical says, "In fact you docked at a space station and took a shuttle to the planet"

Meteu says, "Thats pretty cool"
