FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - ADVANCED LEVELS OF FED2
Q. Why isn't my factory working?
A. there are a number of reasons why your factory isn't running. You need to be methodical and check each one in turn.
1. The factory doesn't have the raw materials it needs. If this is the case try putting enough of the missing raw materials in the depot (if you have one) or make sure that the exchange is selling plenty of the missing materials.
2. The factory cannot get enough workers. There could be a number of reasons for this problem:
a. You are paying below the minimum wage, which is 40 ig for all the Sol system planets
b. There are not enough workers available on the planet for the factories. 'DI PLANET planetname' will show you how many workers are left. If there aren't enough workers then you probably need to raise the wages to attract workers away from other factories.
Note, that you can only tempt workers away from other factories when it is the end of their factory cycle, so even if you are offering a good wage, it may be a while before the workers turn up at your factory gates!
3. You told the factory to stop production, and you haven't told it to start back up yet. Check the factory status in the second line of the factory display.
Q: I have logged on several times today, and at my latest login I had groats removed for excess profits. Surely the game is only supposed to removed groats the first time I log on?
A: The game only taxes you once a day, and that is the first time you log on with more groats than the tax limit. For most people this is the first time they log on each day. However, in your case, when you first logged on that day you didn't have enough money to attract the interest of the taxman. Later in the day you went above the limit and then logged off. When you logged back on, later the same day, it spotted that you were logging on with taxable income for the first time that day, and assessed you for the tax!
