HOLIDAY CRYPTOGRAMS Saturday December 24 by Catspaws
In the spirit of the holidays, Cryptograms this week had a holiday theme. And, in the sneaky way felines can be, they were not easy lists. In fact - insert gloat here - I even managed to stump Fancy! We gathered in Chez Diesel this week, mainly because of the superb food to be had. Playing this week were Fancy, Phedre, Caesar, and Ronin. I chose an easy list for the warmup list: Santa's Reindeer. However, by including both Cupid and Vixen in the list, I managed to trick a player or two. For this list, Fancy finished first, followed by Phedre and then Caesar. The second list was Toys in Santa's Grotto. I didn't go with the short names, but with the nice long ones. (Here is where I give my paw a smug lick, right?) Fancy came in first for this one, and Phedre was second. I showed my mischievous streak on the third list: Things you see on the Sleigh Ride, and Phedre's brain started to hurt from the workout. Again, Fancy came in first, with Phedre second. Ronin showed up at the end of the list and was ready to go for the fourth: Reasons a Fedder Might Get a Lump of Coal. This list was a stumper, and the first time ever I had to give out a clue. Again, Fancy was first, Phedre was second, and Ronin finished third. The final list was a seemingly innocuous one: Things You Might Find In Your Stocking, but it was harder than it looked, and I finally had to give out a clue again. Phedre and Ronin finished first and second, respectively, and finally Fancy came in third. I think stumping Fancy should go into the Hall of Fame, don't you? Congratulations to Fancy for coming in first, Phedre for second place, and Caesar and Ronin who tied for third. Cryptograms are played every Saturday at 4.00pm eastern on the Cryptograms channel. |
