FEDPARDY

Tuesday June 5
by Fancy-Fancy, Mogul of Toontown

Four players joined me in Studio 1 for tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Stiddleficks, Ariadne, Yuko, and Sephorin all came in, and all participated. I explained how to play for our newer players, and then revealed the categories. Tonight they were C Sickness, Commands, The Titan-ic, and The House Special. The players spun the Phrase Game wheel in the studio for the chance to make the first selection, and Stiddleficks got that honor. Stiddleficks selected The House Special for 1 to start the game, and off we went.

Yuko rang in and responded with the correct question to score the first point of the game. Ariadne got the 2 point answer in the same category. She selected Commands for 5, and Stiddleficks rang in to get that one. Yuko then collected the 4 point answer in the same category. Yuko went back to the House Special category for 3, and nobody tried responding to that answer. Yuko then found the first Daily Double under the 4-point answer. Tied at 5 with Stiddleficks, Yuko decided to wager 1 point, and this was her answer:

The most popular of this establishment's alien foodstuffs are the sea creatures swimming in a large tank.

However, Yuko had no response (the correct place was Godot's Snacks), and lost that point. She finished off the category with the next selection, but no one attempted it, and she then started the Titan-ic category for 1. She got the point back with that one, no one attempted the 2, and then Yuko found the other Daily Double under the 3. Deciding to risk 1 point again, I gave her her Daily Double answer:

The walls of this room are made of a clear, crystalline substance, which gives a magnificent view of Saturn and its rings.

Yuko again could not come up with a response. Stiddleficks wished she could have rung in on this, because she knew it was the Viewing Room on Titan. That took us to the break at the half, with Stiddleficks in the lead with 5, to 4 for Yuko, and 2 for Ariadne. Ariadne got to select first in Double Fedpardy as the one trailing.

Ariadne started Double Fedpardy with C Sickness for 10 points, and rang in, and got it to vault into the lead. Ariadne and Sephorin both tried the 8 point answer, but both responded incorrectly, and lost 8 points each. Sephorin recovered and got the 6 point answer correct, and Ariadne picked up the 4 and 2 pointers. Ariadne then selected The Titan-ic for 10, but no one attempted to respond to it. She did, however, select and correctly question the 8 point answer. Ariadne and Sephorin both missed on Commands for 6. Ariadne recovered 4 points with the 4 point answer, and Stiddleficks finished off Double Fedpardy by getting the 2 point answer correct.

That finished off Double Fedpardy, and the scores were: Ariadne 16, Stiddleficks 7, Yuko 4, Sephorin -8. Ariadne, Stiddleficks, and Yuko advanced to Final Fedpardy, with the opportunity to bet as many of their points as they wished. With tonight's Final Fedpardy category being Planetary Infrastructure, the Finalists made their wagers. Yuko had to leave earlier, and didn't return, so I deemed her wager zero. Once the others had decided their wagers, I had explained how Final Fedpardy works, and the contestants had verified they were ready, I presented tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

Two builds that add a point of production to a commodity of choice.

Yuko provided no response, and had no wager, so she remained at 4 points.

Stiddleficks didn't provide a response, either. Her wager was 7 points, taking her down to zero.

That left Ariadne, who responded, "What are agri college and coal?" Those increase efficiency, but not production points, so were incorrect. Ariadne's wager was 1 point, leaving her with 15, and that made her this week's Fedpardy champion. Congratulations to Ariadne on this week's win, and thanks to Stiddleficks, Yuko, and Sephorin for also playing in tonight's game. Join me again on June 19 for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY! And don't forget the Fed Phrase Game on June 12, starting at 10.00pm eastern.
