MORE HINTS FOR MOGULSby HazedHaving more than one planet in a system is nothing new from a technical point of view, because Sol has been happily operating with multiple planets since time immemorial. However, there are consequences of having a player system with more than one planet, that are only coming to light now we actually have some of them. Well, that's why we let the test team play with new things before letting players loose on them, so all the unpredictable side-effects can be taken care of. One of the things we have realized is that the game does not notify players when a second planet is linked into a system. When a Founder gets a new planet the game puts a notice in the SpyNet Review, because the planet is of course linked to the promotion. But a Mogul's second planet doesn't happen at the same time as the promotion, and could happen at any time after that - if ever. There's no game mechanism at all for a notice to be posted when a new planet spins into orbit, so it's going to have to be up to the Moguls themselves to inform the Galaxy at large by posting on the electronic notice board when they are ready to receive visitors. |
