Four players stepped up to the plate this week to wrest a slithy tove from my grasp as they battled it out to become this week's Federgories Champion. These were Nkir, Stiddleficks, Fancy and newcomer Dougal.
Round 1 kicked off with the players trying to guess how many coins I had in my pocket, Dougal Fancy and Nkir all rushing into an early lead! Round 2 was our first bonus round of the games as we sought to remember how many films the Governator of California (Arnold Schwazengger if you don't know your politics!!) had starred in; Dougal, Fancy and Nkir all matched out with Terminator 1, 2 and 3, whilst Fancy and Nkir cancelled each other out with Twins (I didn't even know they were dating!!), but Round 2 saw Nkir and Fancy score 2 each. Round 3 was our first of three Federgories of the night, and after a mis-start by my good self, we sought company names starting with the letter D. Fancy went with Dirty Seeds Planted Dirt Cheap whilst Stiddleficks also scored with Daydreamy Inc. Round 4 saw Dougal, Nkir and Fancy all scoring with colors of the Rainbow and Round 5 tested out their culinary skills as we looked for ingredients used to bake a cake, with Dougal and Nkir cancelling each other out and Fancy scoring with an egg.
At the halfway point it was very much all to play for with only 5 points separating first and last places.
Round 6 was our second Federgory of the night and saw both Dougal and Fancy scoring. In Round 7 they were also joined by Nkir as we tried Drinks starting with the letter C. In round 8, we named a puppy with either Steve or Shaggy as the offerings and in Round 9 all the players cancelled each other out as in our final Federgories round we searched for commands starting with the letter 'T' and all players opting for the Tell(TB) command. So with the game still there for the taking we started Round 10 and the final bonus round, with any of the top three capable of winning. The category was Cities that have hosted the Summer Olympic games, and lots of answers were submitted for this. After removing the duplicates and the cities that have only dreamed of such an honor only Fancy and Dougal scored here.
The scores were totalled and in third came Nkir, second Dougal and in first place by a clear margin was Fancy.
The night's prize of a slithy tove was handed to debutant Dougal.
