FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday December 25
by Cloudbase

As substitute host I stepped into the shoes of the mighty Fancy for a day (small shoes and I ended up with athlete's foot, but that is another story!), to host the Christmas Day edition of the Fed Phrase Game. So I dragged the wheel across to the Morph Bar on Phobos from where I sought the challengers.

Three players abandoned the turkey and festivities to take part: they were Indigo, Stiddleficks and Trilleth. Each spun the wheel to determine the order of play - Indigo spun a 200, Stiddleficks a 600 and Trilleth with a mighty 700, so the order was Trilleth, Stiddleficks then first time player Indigo.

The first puzzle was an object in Fed and was - / - - - - - / - - - - - - - - - - / - - - - - - -. So Trilleth started off and spun 750, getting the letter T, followed by spins of 400 and 750 for the letters S and L. She then purchased the vowel A for 250 points before spinning a couple of 600s and a 200 for the letters N, R and G. 250 points purchased the vowel E before spinning 600 for the letter F and then correctly guessing the puzzle as A LARGE INFLATABLE SNOWMAN as found in Chez Diesel on Mars. So Trilleth on deadly form scored 3500 points with no-one else getting a look in!

Puzzle number 2 was again an object in Fed and looked just like this, - - - - - - - / - - - - - - - - / - - - - - - / - - - - - - -. Stiddleficks started this time spinning a 750 for the letter T which sadly was not in the puzzle, over to Indigo who spun a 300 for an R, then 750 for an N before spinning a 100 and incorrectly guessing the letter G. Trilleth, hungry for more success, spun a 400 and correctly went for the letter M before buying the vowel A, she then got a FREE SPIN, spun a 400 for the letter V, then a 600 but lost out with the letter Y. Stiddleficks was back in play and spun a mighty 700 and correctly went for the letter F, then purchased the vowel I before spinning a 450 but losing out on the letter G. Each player then each spun in turn guessing incorrectly before it came back to Indigo who spun a 500 and got a C then a 400 and the letter H to correctly solve the puzzle MASSIVE ESPRESSO COFFEE MACHINE as found in the Cafe on Selena.

Into the third and final round with Trilleth in front with 3500 points and Indigo on 1950. And it turned into the Indigo show from then on in, as she spun fours 1000s, three 750s oh and a 100 as well for good measure, and along the way purchased 3 vowels before correctly guessing the puzzle as SANTA'S SLEIGH WITH A TEAM OF REINDEER as found in Santa's Grotto on Earth. So with a final round score of 5600 and a total score of 7550, Indigo was the Christmas Day winner of the Fed Phrase game, followed by Trilleth then Stiddleficks, the winner collecting a special Christmas Day Slithy!

My thanks to all those who took part, you will be pleased to know that the Fed Phrase Games goes back to its entirely professional presentation under the control of Fancy next time, so join him on Tuesday at 10.00pm eastern (alternating with Fedpardy).
