THE FED DATASPACE TRAVEL GUIDE: EDINBORO, ERIEZ SYSTEMby TrillethI woke up one morning in my ship, hovering over a planet, with my comm unit insistently buzzing at me. When I responded, I was welcomed to Eriez Space and invited to land on Edinboro. Edinboro? I thought I was going to go to Scotia to drop off a shipment of wood. That must've been why I fell asleep - all that work. Well, since I was here anyway, it couldn't hurt to land for a minute or two. I landed in the middle of bright colors and busy hustle that nearly overwhelmed me. I first wandered into the exchange to try sell my woods cargo... no such luck. I also perused the planetary announcement board, but Edinboro is apparently a serene location, as there were no announcements posted. I treated myself to a drink and breakfast at the Intergalactic Exposition. I went to the hotel to check in. I found the hotel bar, but couldn't find the hotel itself to check in. Shrugging that off, I wandered past the pizzeria, having already had breakfast, and headed into the town proper. I bypassed the Aekonia Embassy (I like portraits of SephSis as much as the next person, but I couldn't stomach anymore sugar that early in the morning) and made my way to the professional center, which seemed to have plenty of space for company owners in need of an office. The highlight of my visit was Edinboro Lake. I couldn't resist a picnic, even though I felt my pants grow a little tight from all the eating on the planet. My one recommendation for this planet is to avoid the island in the middle of the lake. It's nice enough, with a lovely cabin and a futon bed to make up for the hotel being booked out, but the constant sappiness - well, I was glad I brought a good dosage of insulin to keep my blood sugar stable. I finally wandered off Edinboro later that evening, to find my load of wood had been pilfered off by stevedores who had then vanished mysteriously. Sighing quietly, I got a drink from the hotel bar, then wandered back home. RATINGS: |
