NEW DIVVY LIMIT TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS

In a somewhat belated response to the scandal a few months ago where an accidentally oversized dividend issued by a careless Financier led to inflated company balances followed by massive negative balances, and nearly precipitated a Galactic stock market crash, the Galactic Administration has instituted a ban on enormous dividends. There is now an upper limit of 1,000 groats per share when you issue a dividend.

This is intended to prevent accidents by people who forget that the divvy they issue is per share - it doesn't stop you from being overly generous if you want to, because you can always issue more than one divvy in a row to get around the limit.

Of course, I am sure somebody will find a way to accidentally pay out more than they intended despite the limit!
