FEDERGORIES
Thursday April 3

Three people joined me tonight for another great game of Federgories: Fancy, Djentsch, and Logical. (He's my dad, and there was much debate about that one, but in the end everyone trusted that their host wouldn't give in and let her dad cheat!)
And after a quick over view on how the game works, just to refresh everyone's memories, we started. Since spring is upon us, (at least that's what everyone says, it's still rainy and cold here) I decided to go with spring and/or April Fools categories.
The first one was fun; it was, "Spring flowers starting with... P." Logical and Fancy both said: "Petunia" and Djentsch got the only point this round for: "Pansies."
After that I made the observation that this week I had the quiet bunch. No one said a word until I asked if they were ready for the next category. Last week I couldn't get them to be quiet! This week, as silent as the grave...
Moving on, the next one was "April Fools Prank starting with... J" and Fancy came in with a cool one: "Joy Buzzer." As I saw it everyone got points that round, Djentsch for "Jinks," and Logical for "Jolly Jest."
Then was our first Fed related round, and this one was easy for some. It was "Fed companies starting with the letter... L." Of course Logical said his one: "Logical Solutions." But Fancy and Djentsch knocked each other out with "Longbottom Leaf company."
We went several more rounds through: "Furry creatures starting with... R." and "Birds that you see in spring starting with...D." They came up with a funny one after I had already received the answers and we were getting ready for the next round... it was "Daffy Duck."
After a few Fed Related rounds, and a few ones about TV shows (since the writers' strike this last year and all the TV shows coming back in the Spring I thought it would be perfect!)
Finally the Bonus round came, and it was pretty funny... At first I decided to play an April fools joke on the players. (I didn't think they'd take me seriously!) At first I said: "Name as many Rocket Fuels as you can! GO!" Now, in my mind I thought that would be funny since I didn't realize they would take me seriously and start sending in, I guess, Rocket Fuel names. Finally after a few seconds I said "April Fools!" and after a bunch of whining that I did the prank (what can I say? I'm sixteen!).
The Final Bonus round was Drama TV shows, and it was one that I was most looking forward to, since I am a TV junky. As I waited for everyone to send in their answers, unfortunately, Djentsch came in a second too late and so his answers didn't count. And these answers were very interesting. I had some debate and finally had to resort to looking up some that Fancy said cause I wasn't sure if they WERE dramas or not.
Here were the answers:
Fancy, "My Name is Earl, Cheers, Cosby Show, Lost, The Office, Two and a Half Men, Home Improvement, General Hospital, One Day at a Time"
Logical, "Dexter, Torchwood, Law & Order, Criminal Minds, Brothers & Sisters, Dirty Sexy Money, October Road, Women's Murder Club,"
There was a little debate on Dexter, because Djentsch thought that was a cartoon, I unfortunately have seen parts of the show "Dexter" my dad was referring too, and it is NOT a cartoon, unless they make cartoons about serial killers now!
Unfortunately, most of the ones Fancy put were sitcoms, except for Lost and General Hospital.
So in the end, Logical got 8 points for that round, and Fancy got 2.
All in all it was a good night, Djentsch in third place with 8 points, Fancy in second with 9 points, and Logical in first with 17 points!
