ON THE WEB: 2008 LIFE AS SEEN IN 1968

Way back in the middle of the last century, when I was a mere child, people looked to the future and tried to imagine what it would be like. The clichés of flying cars, protein pills and silver jumpsuits aside, most of the predictions were quite dull - and of course they had no way to know about some of the things that have transformed life as we know it, such as hand-held computers and mobile phones.
