NEW ROUTES FROM FED TO THE US

I know that some of our US players were a little bit worried by the fact that our servers are now in the UK (in Manchester to be precise). I thought you might like to know that our providers Melbourne Network Solutions have just announced that they have set up a new route to the US.

Most routing to the US goes through London - usually though a single building which houses all the equipment for LINX (London Internet Exchange). Melbourne has just completed a deal with Tiscali to set up a route to Dublin and thence to the USA and Paris, without going through London.

This means that if anything happens to knock out the London links you will still be able to play Federation 2. It's nice to have a provider that thinks of these sort of things (though I'm sure they didn't just do it for us...).
