ANNOUNCING A NEW EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP

Throughout March we will be holding an Event Championship, with the prize of a trophy cup to be awarded at the end of the month.

Any event that runs during the month will be part of the championship. Those that win or place will be awarded championship points - 3 points to the winner, 2 for the second place and 1 for third. We'll keep a rolling total of the points and at the end of the month the player who has the highest total will be declared the March champion and receive the prize.

The prize is twofold. Your name will be inscribed onto the trophy cup which will be on display in the Sports Complex on the Moon. Future winners' names will be added but names will never be removed so your win will be commemorated forever.

In addition you will receive a miniature replica of the cup which you can keep.

The way the points are totaled means that the overall winner could be somebody who does brilliantly at some games but doesn't place in others - or it could end up with a player who consistently comes third pipping everyone else to the post. It'll be intriguing to see.
