REAL LIFE NEWS: CRIMINAL FOUND THANKS TO FACEBOOK: 2by HazedPolice in Italy have had similar luck in tracking down a wanted felon thanks to his use of Facebook. Pasquale Manfredi, known as Scarface, was allegedly the don of the 'Ndrangheta mafia. He was wanted on charges of murder and drug trafficking, being accused, amongst other things, of disposing of a rival in a bazooka strike. Police managed to track him down following a tip-off that Manfredi was a fan of social networking, and used the alias Georgie on Facebook. They were told he was using social networking to exchange coded instructions and stay in contact with other mobsters. He was found in an apartment in Isola Capo Rizzuto in Southern Italy and police are now investigating whether any of his 200 Facebook friends are also involved in the Mafia. |
