FURTHER DELAY TO NEW CODE

After the delaylast week in finishing up the code for graving docks (or grazing ducks as one player misread it!) I'm afraid the code still isn't ready.

As I told you last week, Alan suffered a hardware problem. If you read his Winding Down column you will have seen that it was a failure of his portable hard drive - this is the device upon which he keeps all his development tools and the code he is working on.

Although Amazon sent him a replacement drive with no questions asked, and it arrived on Tuesday, it then took him a couple more days to put everything onto the drive before he could commence work again - and then he got an eye infection which prevented him from being able to see the screen at all for 48 hours!

It's not been a good week for Alan...

At this point, I am not going to promise that the code will be going in next weekend, because who knows, a werewolf might break into Alan's flat and eat the new drive, or an asteroid might fall on his computer, or he might get abducted by aliens.
