REAL LIFE NEWS: MOBILE PHONES CAUSE TINNITUS

Mobile phones don't cause cancer. But they might not be completely safe after all, because a recent study claims they can cause tinnitus - a persistent ringing in the ears.

The report says they found 33 people who got tinnitus on the same side of their head as they used a mobile phone. They also found 25 people whose tinnitus was on the opposite side from their phone ear, but given that the sample size was 100 that does seem to indicate that there is an increased chance of developing the condition in the ear that the phone is against.

The researchers suggest that the microwave radiation emitted by the phone causes a calcium imbalance.

The authors of the study admit that the sample size is extremely small, and they also say that it's possible that those who use mobile phones a lot could also be Walkman users, so it's not definite that the phones are to blame.

So that ringing in your ears could be caused by the phone... and no, not by the phone actually ringing!
