REAL LIFE NEWS: LANDO CALRISSIAN ARRESTED

A real life man who shares his name with a Star Wars character has been arrested on shooting charges, after nearly five years on the run. Lando Calrissian Young, a 24 year old, was wanted in connection with the shooting of Jordan Crampton back in January 2006.

There's nothing very significant about the crime, or the fact that the police finally caught up with him, except for his name. Lando Calrissian was a character in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, a bounty hunter who first gives up Han Solo to his enemy Jabba the Hut, then helps to rescue him. I guess the real life Lando's parents were influenced by the films when deciding what to call their baby boy.

Shame the character's heroism didn't rub off!
