Yesterday, for anyone following the spynet report, Anput set the record for going from Groundhog to Trader at just under 12 hours. (Note from Hazed: the game log shows a start time of 18.38 server time, and promotion to Trader at 05.29 the next morning.) Not to be outdone, Anput decided to break her own record the next day with an improved client (thanks to Kolie).
Following a round of suicides, Anput (Liandri's alt) and Echelon (Kolie's alt) began an old-fashioned space race to Trader. Both players created characters right after each other and began hauling their hearts out. Echelon pulled ahead early on as Anput's client crashed on her, causing her to lose valuable time restarting it, but Anput soon caught up when Echelon's client crashed in the same manner. The two continued to race across Sol, hauling madly. Echelon ran out of fuel a few hours later and and had to pull over and wait for a tanker, causing Anput to pull ahead slightly. The two continued streaking across the galaxy until Echelon crashed once more, causing Anput to get to Adventurer first, and established a firm lead.
Unfortunately, shortly after this point, both players had technical difficulties that would have put them behind several hours, so the two of them called it a truce in favor of shattering the record another day... |
