REAL LIFE NEWS: SEE, I TOLD YOU BEER WAS GOOD FOR YOUby HazedChugging a beer after strenuous exercise is good for your body. That's what Spanish researchers are saying - they claim beer can help a person who is dehydrated to retain liquid better than water, that the bubbles in beer help to quench the thirst, and that the carbohydrate content can help to replace lost calories. Professor Manuel Garzon, of Granada University, asked a group of students to do strenuous exercise in temperatures of around 104 degrees F. Afterwards, half were given a pint of beer, while the others got a pint of water to drink. The result was the hydration effect was "slightly better" in the beer drinkers. Cheers!
