REAL LIFE NEWS: TOY TIGER ALERT!

There was a large-scale police operation in Hampshire, in the south of England (near where I was brought up) last week. A helicopter with thermal imaging cameras was deployed. The search was on for an escaped tiger.

A member of the public had spotted the white tiger hiding in a field and alerted police, who sprang into action. They made contingency plans to close a nearby motorway should it become necessary. They alerted a local zoo and enlisted the help of its animal experts. They even stopped play in a local cricket match.

But the thermal imaging equipment couldn't locate any body heat from the escaped beast, so police moved in very carefully to take a closer look. When downdraft from the copter caused the tiger to roll over, they realised what they were up against...

A life-sized toy tiger.

Nobody knows how the stuffed animal ended up in the field. It is now being treated as lost property.
