ROBOT OF THE WEEK: THE JOGGING LEGS

This video shows MABEL, a bipedal robot, jogging around the room. Actually, all MABEL is is a pair of legs that jog - there's no head or body. It also needs a guiding bar to keep her on track, but still it's an impressive display of how robots could be made to move in the future. Take a look here.
Imagine this technology combined with the "big dog" carriers developed to carry loads across different terrains, and you could soon have a robot that could keep up with running soldiers.
