REAL LIFE NEWS: MORE GAMES ON PRESCRIPTIONby HazedFollowing on from last week's story about games being prescribed for those suffering from schizophrenia, it now looks like playing video games could help improve the eyesight of young people with "lazy eye" - another reason we may see games on prescription. Somen Ghost of the Micro Surgical Eye Clinic in Kilkata, India, reports that when he ran a video game therapy study, nearly 30% of the 100 participants who played first-person shooting games or driving games every day saw their eyesight improve. This certainly beats the old method of making the kid wear an eye-patch, thus ensuring he or she gets bullied at school!
