ON THE WEB: THERE ARE STILL ADVENTURES
by Hazed
One of the bloggers I follow has posted a lengthy piece, complete with photos, about adventures that can still be had these days. He talks about the shuttle Endeavour’s journey through Los Angeles to its final resting place, and Felix Baumgartner’s amazing free fall jump from a balloon.
I didn’t cover either of these stories in the Fed2 Star because I was sure you’d have read about them in the mainstream media, but just in case you missed them - or want to be reminded - take a look at these pictures.
The blogger is Randy Cassingham, who runs a mailing list I have subscribed to for years called This Is True, which reports on quirky news stories from around the world. I always look forward to his weekly newsletter, and even when my inbox is groaning with things demanding my attention, I turn to This Is True first.
There’s a free edition and a premium version with extra material for those who pay for a sub. It’s funny and informative, and I thoroughly recommend it.
