ON THE WEB: BAD SCIENCE IN MOVIES

We saw some excellent films during 2012. My favorite was probably The Avengers, but I also enjoyed Looper, Skyfall, The Dark Knight Rises, and many others.
When I describe them as excellent I am referring to their entertainment value. Sadly, the same word cannot be used for their scientific accuracy. Here’s details of some of the things seven of the past year’s blockbuster films got very, very wrong.
