VIDEO OF THE WEEK: THE SPITTING SUN

NASA has released a video of a coronal mass ejection, in which the sun shoots over a billion tons of particles into space at over a million miles per hour.
The time-lapse video condenses two and a half hours into just 12 seconds, and shows the CME erupting from just around the edge of the sun earlier this week. Fortunately, it’s not headed towards the Earth.
