MESSAGE EDITOR PROBLEM SOLVED
by Hazed
Last week, as part of his report on what he had been up to, Alan explained that he was having problems compiling a version of the new message editor that could be distributed to users. Now he has overcome those problems by back-porting it Qt4.8 and has managed to send me a version of the software which I can run.
So now it’s over to me to test it and find all the things he did wrong (or, as he would put it, to nit-pick over fiddly little details that don’t really matter very much…) and to update the basic workbench manual. When that’s all done, the new software can be released in time for the next issue of the Star in two weeks.
Incidentally, you may be interested to know that the new versions of the workbench editors are open source and the source code will be on Bitbucket as soon as the program is ready for distribution.
