REAL LIFE NEWS: LUMINOUS SPACESUIT WINS VOTE

Back in March I told you that NASA wanted the public to vote on the design for its new spacesuit. Now the votes are in, the public has spoken, and the results can be revealed.

[Cue tension-raising drumbeat, ominous flashing lights, camera switching from space helmet to space helmet to space helmet as we all wait nervously to find out who won…]
...The luminous design that looks like something from Tron. Good. That was my favourite.
Now the spacesuit will enter a program of strenuous testing. It will be dumped into a vacuum chamber to check for leaks, immersed in a massive swimming pool, and tested on a simulated rocky Martian environment.
If it passes all the test, then in 15 or 20 years maybe it will be used on the real Mars!
