ARTIST OF THE WEEK: H R GIGER (RIP)

Last week the artist H R Giger died. If you haven’t heard that name then you will almost certainly have seen some of his work – his contributions to popular culture include the designs for the Alien films. The terrifying alien monster, the face hugger, the interior of the alien ship; those were all the work of Giger. He also designed several album covers during the seventies, including the one for Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s Brain Salad Surgery.
