WORLD’S OLDEST DROID LEG FOUND
by Hazed
Archaeologists working in the ruins of an ancient civilization on Mars have found what is believed to be the oldest piece of a droid ever discovered.
The metal leg dates back several thousand years, to the time when the Martian civilization was at its height. It has been discovered in a storeroom in the ruins that house the remnants of a power system (familiar to those who have taken part in the many attempts to restart it). The leg still contains fragments of the wiring and circuitry that would have made up the internal workings of the alien robot.
There has long been speculation that the Martians made as much use of robots as do modern civilizations, but this is the first large piece that has been found. It is assumed that, just as humans build humanoid robots, the Martians favoured droids shaped in their own image, which means this leg would be one of a set of three. The archaeologists will now continue their excavations to see if other legs, or further pieces of this droid – or different mechanical beings – can also be found.
