DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: COMPLAINT ABOUT WANTED POSTER GETS WOMAN ARRESTED

A woman in Ohio was really upset when detectives posted a “wanted” photo of her on Facebook, as part of their “warrant Wednesday” initiative, a weekly roundup of wanted criminals. Monica Hargrove, the notice said, was wanted for robbing an acquaintance at gunpoint: “On August 30th Hargrove offered a female acquaintance a ride to a pharmacy on E. Main St. to pick up a prescription. After the acquaintance got the prescription and got back in the vehicle, Hargrove robbed the victim at gunpoint, leaving her on the side of the road.”
Monica wasn’t upset about the existence of the wanted poster, but by the mug shot they used, which she thought was really unflattering.
So she called the police and demanded that they take the picture down. The quick-thinking detective she spoke to suggested that she come into the station to talk about it. And guess what? She did.
As you can probably guess, she was promptly arrested.
