PICTURE OF THE WEEK: IO AND JUPITER

Following last week’s story [LINK] about Io’s atmosphere vanishing every time it is eclipsed by Jupiter, here’s a picture of the moon over the planet’s swirling clouds.
In the picture, Io is about 350,000 km higher than the cloud tops, as it orbits the planet once every 42 hours.
