REAL LIFE NEWS: CAFÉ WAITRESS SAVES LIFE OF WOMAN STUCK IN BATH
by Hazed
Following my recent story about the Domino’s pizza staff that saved the life of a regular customer, here is a similar story, this time from the UK. An old age pensioner in Southend, England, was rescued from a serious predicament when the waitress at her local café realised she hadn’t come in to get her weekly slice of cake.
Doreen Mann, an 87-year old, got stuck in her bath and was unable to get out. She called for help but nobody heard her. She survived for FOUR DAYS, at first by topping up the water from the hot tap to keep warm, and then later she let the water out and wrapped herself up in towels and robes. She also kept hydrated by drinking water from the cold tap.
Sonia Congrave, a waitress from the café, called the police when she noticed that Doreen hadn’t made her regular weekly visit to the café. She had been visiting for 13 years so was well-known there.
Doreen’s patio doors were unlocked so police were able to enter her house, and they heard her calling for help so were able to rescue her.
