REAL LIFE NEWS: GERMAN PRIESTBOT

I don’t know whether there is a shortage of priests in Germany, but for some reason a church has decided that what the clergy really needs is a robot to deliver blessings to visitors.
The priestdroid has been created by the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau and an engineer, Alexander Wiedekind-Klein, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
The priestbot is called the “BlessU-2” and it can bless people in both male and female voices. Worshippers can interact with the droid using a touchscreen on its chest.
The bless-bot is part of a larger installation running until September, called the Church of Light.
