Hello Fedders, it's Dot Matrix here with another special bulletin telling you all about what Bella has been doing. No, not celebrity gossip - the Star isn't the sort of paper to concern itself with who has been seen out on the town with whom, who said rude things about another famous being, or which starry couple's relationship is on the rocks. Although, I did here a rumour that famous holo star Brix Chanterel - you know, the hunky one who is always posing without his shirt on - has been seeing rather a lot of a certain cute little alien from... but that's not relevant to this bulletin!
POPULATION FIGURES NOW CORRECTThere is much wailing and gnashing of teeth (or equivalent) as CEOs suddenly find their factories cannot get the workers needed to produce the goods. Why? Because the planetary population figures have now been sorted out so all the extra factories that were built to take advantage of the bug are having to fight for a much smaller pool of workers. The fix went in at yesterday's reset, and at first the current numbers of workers showed up on many planets as a large negative number, but as each factory came to the end of a cycle and released these non-existent workers back into the pool, things straightened themselves out. Bella had to do an extra reset to fix a problem whereby builds which should have increased populations were not being taken into account, and therefore, the workthings were finally as they should have been. Incidentally, when we talked to Bella about the extra reset yesterday, and the bug which made it necessary, she said - and this is a direct quote - "The code was perfectly correct, it just didn't work properly." That sounds like "The operation was a perfect success, but the patient died!". She then went on to explain that she had forgotten to take the code out of test-mode, in which only the builds on the moon were counted.
