Dot Matrix's Xmas Bulletin No 6

FED2 STAR - SPECIAL BULLETIN 7

Hello Fedders, Dot Matrix here saying Happy New Year to all of you. (Hazed asked me to say that.) It's been a while since my last bulletin, partly because there's been nothing much to tell you, but also because I have been very busy varnishing Hazed's office floor. I've been taking my time, making sure each plank of wood is very thoroughly painted with several coats before moving onto the next one, and now I just have the final bit in the corner next to the publishing machine to do. I should have it all done by the time Hazed and the rest of the newsdroids come back to work on January 7.

Meanwhile, there's a couple of things to tell you about.

BUNGEE JUMP FOR JOY

You know how somebody can sometimes say something trivial, make some random throwaway remark, but it strikes a chord and ends up being far more significant than they expected? Take a look at this conversation:

Your comm unit crackles with a message from Nut, "does anyone know where the tallest building in Sol is"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Klytos, "Don't do it Nut!!"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Bella, "the GA is at least 42 floors high"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Nut, "42 floors that might work"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Hazed, "Are you going bungee jumping, Nut?"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Nut, "thinking about it but with out the bungee"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Oddball, "i'd say he's nuts, but thats too easy"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Oddball, "and if he jumps without the bungee, then he's gottem not that it will matter much at the end"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Djentsch, "isn't that what insurance is for?"
Your comm unit crackles with a message from Nut, "do they have bungee jumpin here somewhere"

That conversation made a lightbulb go off in the head of an enterprising businessman, George Shoddy, who lost no time in gaining permission to set up on the roof of the Galactic Administration HQ building a bungee jumping facility. If you want to try it, go into the building's elevator lobby and go north to take the special elevator to the roof garden, where you can buy refreshments before steeling your self to plummet off the side of the highest building on Earth.

The jump costs 100 groats, and you won't be able to take it unless you are insured. Mr Shoddy assured me that this isn't because it's dangerous, it's simply because he follows the health and safety regulations. I believe him, and I intend to take the jump as soon as I've finished Hazed's floor.

CLIVE'S COLLECTIBLES SELLS NEW TRADING CARD

That rather unpleasant chubby youth, Clive, who runs the new collectibles shop on Castillo, has asked me to tell you all that the new trading card in the Emperors series is now on sale, depicting the Emperor Frizz. The card costs 1 slithy tove and you can get it with 'BUY FRIZZ'.

Clive isn't one of my favorite people; he sweats far too much and seems to have all the charm of a warty toad, but I must admit I like these trading cards he is selling. I understand that once he has gone through all six of the Emperors in the current series, there will be a set of Entertainers, and I am looking forward to that. I hope they include a card showing Brix Chanterel, he's my favorite. Of course, as a droid I don't find him physically attractive, although I understand his muscles are supposed to ripple in a particularly impressive way; it's his wit that I admire.

A MESSAGE FROM HAZED

Hazed says:

A very happy new year to all our players, and many thanks to everyone who supported us throughout 2006, by buying slithy toves to help pay for the game's costs, by joining the staff to help out in the game, or just by playing and being part of the Fed2 community.

From all at ibgames, we wish you the best 2007. See you in Fed2 DataSpace!
