IBGAMES GALLERY: AGE OF ADVENTURE PICTURES
INTRODUCTION AND CHARACTERS
Age of Adventurer was a game set in the Victorian age of exporation and discovery. Players explored the globe, undertaking quests and solving puzzles. Here are a selection of introductory picture, starting with the masthead used on all the Age web pages.
The game was a role-playing game where players created an avator and selected a nationality, profession, skills and so on to use on the quests. We came up with a typical party of explorers which we used in many of the pictures for the game. Here are their portraits.
Sir Everard Creighton-Ward, an aristocratic gentleman with an insatiable curiosity for ferreting out puzzles. |
||
Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward, his grand-daughter - not as delicate as she looks, and well able to endure the rigours of a quest.
Harold Carstairs Esq, the family butler, an expert at producing a little bit of civilization in the midst of the harshest of conditions.
Michigan Smith, the leader of the party, an explorer of some reknown.
Professor Patience Watson, the Curator of the Curios and Alien Objects Department at the Imperial Institute |
Here, the five explorers pose on the steps of a jungle ruin - this picture was the "splash" screen for the Age of Adventure front-end software.
