CHANGING THE LOOK OF FED2TERM
You can change a number of settings which affect the way Fed2Term looks:
Changing the background color
You can change the color of Fed2Term's background screen, by selecting the 'Options' menu and clicking on 'Background Color...'. This brings up a grid with the standard Windows colors. Click on the color you want. You can also define your own custom color if you want to get really creative. Then click on the 'OK' button, or 'Cancel' if you change your mind. Fed2Term will save the color your choose and use it for future sessions.
Changing the font
You can change the size, style and color of the font Fed2Term uses to display text on the screen, by selecting the 'Options' menu and clicking on 'Fonts...'.
Only fixed pitch fonts are available, since tables sent by Federation will not show up properly with proportionally spaced fonts, and lines will not format properly. Fed2Term will save the details of the font you choose and use them for future sessions.
Suppressing blank lines
This option doesn't really work properly in Fed2 yet.
Diagnostics
This is really to help us if you experience problems. It turns on a display of the telnet commands received by the front-end and various other state information. We may ask you to enable this option if you report problems. Usually telnet commands will only be received while you are first logging in to the game. If you are curious to see what is going on please feel free to turn on diagnostics by selecting the 'Options' menu and clicking on 'Diagnostics'. The same option turns diagnostics off again.
Turning off the Tool Bar
Fed2Term has a tool bar at the top of the screen which gives you instant access to some of the more common options. However, it does mean you lose a bit of screen real estate. If you would rather not sacrifice that space, you can turn the tool bar off by selecting the 'View' menu and clicking on 'Tool Bar'. The same option will bring the tool bar back again.
Turning off the Status Bar
Fed2Term has a status bar at the bottom of the screen which gives you information about what state Fed2Term is in; for example, whether you are connected or not, and whether you are logging. You can turn the status bar off to make the output screen larger by selecting the 'View' menu and clicking on 'Status Bar'. The same option will bring the status bar back again.
