FED2TERM MANUAL - PLAYING FED2 WITH FED2TERM

WHAT'S ON THE SCREEN

The Fed2Term screen is separated into a large window, which takes up most of the screen, called the output window; a small window along the bottom called the input window; and the player list down the right hand side of the screen. You can change the relative sizes of these three windows by dragging the sliders around.

The title bar of the program reminds you which account you are using by showing the Fed character name, assuming you provided that information.

Messages from the game appear in the output window. To enter commands type into the input window at the bottom, and then press return to send off the command. You can only type one command at a time into the input window.

You can edit your commands in the input window as normal until you press the return key to send it off to the game. 'Home' and 'End' move the cursor to the start and end of the line; if you have typed enough text to move you onto a second line, 'Ctrl-Home' and 'Ctrl-End' move you to the start and end of the text.

You can cut and paste between these two windows, or between Fed2Term and another program, using the standard Windows keys - 'Ctrl-Ins' or 'Ctrl-C' for copy, and 'Shift-Ins' or 'Ctrl-V' for paste - or by using the 'Copy' and 'Paste' commands in the 'Edit' Menu. You can also access these commands through the standard windows right-click menu - just click the right mouse button. Note that you cannot paste text into the output window.

A status bar at the bottom of the screen gives you useful information such as whether you are connected to the game, how many people are in the game, and so on; and a tool bar at the top gives you fast access to some of the features you will want to use all the time. Both of these can be toggled on and off using the options in the 'View' menu.
