FED2TERM MANUAL - GETTING STARTED
SETTING UP THE SOFTWARE
Downloading Fed2Term
You can download Fed2Term from our web site at http://www.ibgames.net/fed2/fed2term/index.html. The file is called Fed2Term.msi.
Installing the program
When you run the program you downloaded, the installation will start. You will be asked what directory you want the Fed2Term program to go in: it defaults to C:\Program Files\Fed2Term but you can change it to something else if you want.
The zip contains two files:
- The program file, Fed2Term.exe
- A sound file, alert.wav
Running the program
Run Fed2Term by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop, or selecting the Start Menu item under ibgames/Fed2Term.
Upgrading from previous versions
If you are upgrading from a previous version of Fed2Term, you can either overwrite the files for the old version, or install the new version into a different directory. Whichever you do, the new version will pick up your account details and other settings from the Windows registry.
Using Fed2Term with FedTerm32
If you want to continue to use FedTerm32 to log into classic Fed, and also use Fed2Term to play Fed2, you can - the programs will run at the same time. We advise you to make sure you install them in different directories, otherwise the logs will get very confused!
However, both programs store the account details for logging on in the Windows registry, so both programs will be accessing the same information. If you are using exactly the same ID and password in both games, that won't be a problem. However if your ID and password are different in classic Fed and Fed2, you will see both log-ons whichever program you are using, and will have to choose the correct one.
