FED2 PLANET STOCK BUILDER PROGRAM

If you are not interested in designing your own planet then you can use one of the six stock planets that we provide - Fire, Ice, Candy, Happy, Sleepy and Doc... no, that's not right! Water, Fire, Ice, Habitat, Rock and Candy. Yep, that's it.

However, the files for the stock planet need to be altered so that the technical info the game requires uses your system name and planet name. The game is very picky about the format of this info, and the list of instructions of how to change the planet maps to conform to its requirements is complicated. Anyone who doesn't want to bother to customize a planet isn't going to enjoy having to make these changes, and a lot of people get the info wrong.

Stepping into the breach to help out comes Gwaptiva, who has provided a Stock Planet Builder program which runs on Windows computers. You give the program the names you want to use for your system and planet, and tell it which of the six stock planets you want, and it'll do all the work for you - amending the info in the files and saving them with the right filenames. All you have to do is email the resulting files to feedback@ibgames.com - in the body of the email please give your character name, and the system and planet name.

You could also load the resulting files into the map editor to customize some of the location descriptions before submitting the planet to be linked into the game, or even use it to set up the files correctly which you then intend to modify substantially.
