WARNING: THE TAXMAN COMETH

In the aftermath of the Big Disaster, when I was handing out large sums of groats in compensation to restore players' characters, the taxman was forced to go on holiday. At the same time, company shareholders and citizens of player planets agreed to calm down and not to cause unrest even if they were disaffected, to give CEOs and POs a chance to set things up properly without having to worry about rebellions or riots.

Now, that happy carefree time is nearly over. The taxman has announced that he is bored with lounging around in the sun doing nothing, and can't wait to get back to his office where he can recommence his work, gouging the rich. He will be back in place on Monday October 22.

With his return, we will see an end to the restraint showed by the disaffected; they will start to rebel, to take over companies, to riot and loot and burn down buildings and steal money and destroy property...

So you've got just over a week to get your houses (so to speak) in order!

Let's make this totally obvious: ON MONDAY OCTOBER 22 TAXATION, AND THE BAD AFFECTS OF DISAFFECTION, WILL BE TURNED BACK ON.
