FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday November 11
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

When 10.00pm eastern rolled around, I found Celia and Jazir waiting for me in Studio 1. An ad got Munabilo to come to the studio as well, and verifying that everyone knew how to play, we began. Determining their playing order, Celia ended up first, followed by Munabilo, then Jazir. So Celia got to start our first puzzle, which was 5 word things (9, 2, 8, 7, and 7 letters).

Celia found an N on her first spin, for 750, but her second spin landed on Lose a Turn. Munabilo took over and called S, T, R, L, A, E, C, F, W, O, I, and B, going all the way to solve the puzzle - waterfall of military service ribbons - to win the round and make its 4450 points permanent.

The second puzzle was a 4 word thing (1, 6, 5, and 8 letters). Jazir was next in the order, so he began the second round. He landed on 1000, but couldn't find any T's. Celia got the puzzle and added several letters to the puzzle - R, N, L, Y, G, E, and I - before a missing D ended her turn. Munabilo landed on 400, but there were no P's for it. Jazir hit 500, but for zero M's. Celia got the puzzle back and added S, A, O, and B before her next letter, F, wasn't in the puzzle. Munabilo got the puzzle again, and landed on Free Spin twice in a row, picking one up each time with the final two letters of the puzzle, W and H, then solved - a really large wishbone - for the house minimum 250 points. More importantly, those two free spins carried over.

Our third round was 3 word things (5, 5, and 5 letters), and Jazir again started the puzzle. This time he found a pair of N's for 400 each, and then landed on Free Spin, but couldn't pick it up with an R. Celia landed on 300, but couldn't find any L's. Munabilo got hold of the puzzle, with 2 free spins. It found an S, T, H, and E before a missing B stopped its turn. It used one of its free spins to continue, but couldn't find a D, and decided to hold onto its other free spin, setting up Jazir's turn. However, Jazir's connection apparently failed him right then, and we did not see him return, so we passed the turn to Celia. She placed a K and C for 750 each, bought the O, before calling a P missing from the puzzle. Munabilo bought the I's, finishing the vowels, then found a pair of V's for 1000 each, then solved - thick woven vines - for 2950 points.

With only two players remaining and having played a full hour already, I declared the game completed and added up the scores. Munabilo won all three rounds for 7650 points total, making it this week's champion. Congratulations to Munabilo, and thanks to it, Jazir, and Celia for coming to play tonight.
