FED PHRASE GAME
Tuesday April 28

I got three players for this week's Fed Phrase Game. Racingnut, Jazir, and Meteu joined me in Studio 1 with the wheel to try their luck with the wheel and skill at solving the puzzles. All three were veteran players, so we went right to setting the order, which put Meteu first, followed by Jazir, then Racingnut.
The first puzzle started with Meteu, and was a 4 word living thing (5, 5, 9, and 5 letters). Meteu start off selecting C, but that wasn't in the puzzle. Jazir took over and found a pair of R's for 100 each, then landed on Free Spin, but his choice of T was not in the puzzle, so he couldn't pick it up. Racingnut got hold of the puzzle and added the N's, G's, I's, L's, A's, and S before his pick of an H stopped him. Meteu got another chance at the puzzle and found a pair of M's, but then hit a Lose a Turn. Jazir, with 200 points, decided to solve without spinning any more, and did so correctly - small, green Rigellian woman - to take the round for the house minimum 250 points.
Our second puzzle was a 3 word thing (12, 7, and 7 letters), which Racingnut got to start. It didn't start off auspiciously, though, as his first spin was a Bankrupt. Meteu landed on a Free Spin, but he was unable to pick it up with a B missing from the puzzle. Jazir promptly spun a Bankrupt, and Racingnut got the puzzle back. With a second chance, Racingnut uncovered several letters - T's, R's, E's, N's, and A, before he bought an O that wasn't in the puzzle, ending his turn. Meteu got a second chance, but couldn't capitalize with an F. Jazir tried M, but that wasn't in the puzzle, either. With 4350 points, Racingnut bought the I's, spun 200 and found two S's, then solved - Interstellar Revenue Service - for 4500 points.
We were back to Meteu to start the third puzzle, 4 word things (11, 6, 6, and 7 letters). Met started by finding a pair of R's and a C, before a missing P stopped him. Jazir started his turn by landing on Free Spin, and this time he was able to pick it up with a pair of T's. He went on to add S's, N, E, and L before Jazir landed on another Free Spin, but couldn't pick that one up with an H. He turned in his free spin to continue his turn and placed D's, A's, V, I's, M's, and G's before he decided to solve - radioactive symbol fridge magnets - for 2550 points.
We had time for one more puzzle, and our final puzzle of the night was a 4 word phrase (2, 9, 3, and 5 letters), with Racingnut getting to start it. He did so with a Lose a Turn spin. Meteu landed on 700, but found no S's. Jazir spun 1000 and found two T's for 2000 points. He bought the E, and the I's, placed a Y and an N, bought the O's, placed the L's, B, F, and R before solving - no liability for death - for 3500 points.
That brought us to the end of our allotted hour, and pulling out first with that last puzzle was Jazir with 6300 total points. Racingnut finished second with 4500 points. Congratulations to both on their puzzle solutions, and I think Jazir, Racingnut, and Meteu for coming out to play tonight. I hope to see you on May 12 starting at 10.00pm eastern in Studio 1 on the Lattice for our next exciting edition of the Fed Phrase Game. And don't forget FEDPARDY! on May 5, same time, same place.
