FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday February 2
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Three players joined me in Studio 1 this week for the Fed Phrase Game. Squeeky, Otamusima, and Gizmo showed up to play. I went over the rules for them so our new players knew how to play. After that, we set their playing order. Squeeky ended up first, followed by Gizmo, then Otamusima.

Our first puzzle was 5 word things (5, 2, 9, 5, and 5 letters), with Squeeky up first to start it. The mouse spun 1000 on the wheel, but there were no R's in the puzzle to take advantage. Gizmo took over and put together a tremendous run. She started finding three S's, then bought the E's and A's, found a pair of T's, then bought the I's and O's. She then picked up a Free Spin with an N, some points with an F and L, before picking an H not in the puzzle. She decided to use her free spin and found a D, three C's, and then picked up another free spin with a K. She added an M for 400, before picking a missing P on her next spin. She again used her free spin to continue her turn and bought the U, leaving "_o_es" for the last word. She spun 300, called G... and it was not in the puzzle, ending her turn. Otamusima took over and filled in the remaining blanks with a B and X, then solved - stack of identical music boxes - for 650 points.

Tonight's second puzzle was a 4 word proper name (7, 4, 7, and 2 letters). We were also back to Squeeky in the order to start it. Squeeky found an S for 150 points, only to see it wiped out with a Bankrupt on its next spin. Gizmo tried R, only to find out it wasn't in this puzzle. Otamusima landed on a Free Spin, but couldn't pick it up with a C. Squeeky found a T for 1000, then an N, three L's, and bought the E's before an F ended its turn. Gizmo found a pair of M's, bought the A and I, found a D, Y, and V, before a missing P ended her turn. Otamusima got the puzzle back, spun once, called B, and that left only vowels. Otamusima then solved - Menella Bute Smedley IV - for 300 points.

We had time for one more puzzle, a 4 word thing (1, 3, 8, and 6 letters). We were again back to Squeeky to start it. Squeeky found an R, S, pair of T's, and N, bought the E's, picked up a Free Spin with an L, and bought the A's before choosing an M not in the puzzle. It decided to use its free spin then and there, but couldn't find any P's, either. Gizmo got a turn, but it promptly ended with a Bankrupt. Otamusima got a chance at the puzzle, found a W for 400, and an F for 1000, then solved - a two fingered salute - for 1400 points.

That's all the puzzles we had time for tonight, and Otamusima won them all for a grand total of 2350 points. Congratulations, Otamusima, and thanks to Squeeky and Gizmo who provided the competition tonight. Join us again February 16 for our next edition of the Fed Phrase Game.
