THE MAGIC WORD FOR EMAIL IS FED2by HazedI just had to fish some planet files out of my spam bucket, because my dumb filters thought the emails with the attached files were spam, or malware, or something undesirable. I get in excess of 1,000 emails every day, about 99.9% of which really is spam, so it's easy to miss the genuine mail amongst all the dross. I've set up filters to help, and if you put "Fed2" in your subject line, then my mail program won't think your email is spam. That means I will get to read it and respond. (Note: that's Fed2 without a space between the Fed and the 2.) If you don't use the magic word, then you take pot luck on whether I'll even see your email. First, my mail program might think it's spam, in which case the chances of me checking to see if it's wrong are fairly low. Then, even if it doesn't automatically consign the mail to the oblivion of the spam folder, it'll dump it with all the other undecided stuff - and most of that really is spam. I usually run my eyeballs over the subject lines to try to spot the real mail, but it's so easy to miss something. The only sure way to get your mail up on my screen so I can deal with it, is to put Fed2 in the subject line. Then, the email will be steered into a special folder, along with all the other real stuff I want to look at. |
