RESET TIME CHANGING TO LUNCHTIME (EAST COAST)
by Hazed
Alan is going to change the time that the game resets every day. Instead of 1.00pm UK time (8.00am eastern time) he's going to set it to 7.00pm UK time, which is 2.00pm eastern time.
This is a temporary measure because of the annoying glitches we've been having recently, where a corrupted file has prevented the game from firing up properly after the reset, resulting in an outage until Alan gets home from work and can sort things out. Moving the reset closer to his usual home-time means that he'll be on call to deal with problems right away.
It's a short-term solution to stop you being inconvenienced. He's looking at the code now and intends to make a change to the way the game handles corrupt files, so that instead of just screeching to a halt and refusing to fire up at all, it will skip over the offending file and not load in the particular star system, but carry on with everything else.
Obviously, the ideal solution is to figure out what's causing files to go corrupt, and fix that problem - and he's going to be looking at that, too.
Meanwhile, by the time you read this, the various star systems that had problems and which were taken out of the game will be back in. Apologies to their owners for the absence.
