DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: CRIMINAL WANTS MONEY TRANSFERRED TO HIS OWN BANK ACCOUNT

Sometimes a dumb criminal is just so idiotic you have to feel sorry for him. Paul Neaverson is one such sad loser. He tried to rob a bank, but instead of asking for cash, he wanted the money transferred to a bank account – his own account!
Neaverson walked into a NatWest bank in a small town in Kent, England and held a knife to a cashier’s neck. He said he needed money “to book a flight to Corfu for a job interview as a golf coach”. Ok, so far that sounds like standard robber behaviour, although explaining why you want the loot is probably superfluous.
Then he handed over his bank details so the money could be transferred to his account.
At this point, the cashier hit a panic button, so the criminal ran for it to another bank, where he tried again. Sadly for him, he was arrested and soon found himself in court, charged with two attempted robberies and possession of a blade. He pleaded guilty and was jailed for two years.
