NEW YEAR – NEW VOTE
by Hazed
As we clear away the rubble from the holiday festivities and prepare to embark on a brand new year, it’s back to work for the newsdroids who are looking somewhat the worse for wear after a hectic bout of partying. Still, I am sure they are ready to get back to work. They’d better be if they don’t want to end up turned into a piece of metallic modern art.
Meanwhile, Santa has closed his grotto again and gone into hibernation until next Christmas – and I have removed the falling snow from the website! (If you missed seeing this programming feat, of which I am very proud even though I stole the code from the internet, it’s still on the archive of the last issue of the Star, here.)
The new year means it’s a new voting cycle on The Mud Connector. TMC is one of the largest websites about multi-player games, and it has a list which ranks the most popular game. The list is compiled by totting up the votes cast by the games’ users – and your votes for Fed2 are very important.
Every two months, the votes are all thrown out and the chart is reset. That means we all start from scratch again on a level playing field and Fed2 has to fight its way up the charts again.
This chart is really important to us. TMC website is a great source of new players, without whom the game would wither and die. We stand out from the crowd of all the many games listed on the site by keeping a high place in the charts.
Ideally we want to be in the top ten, for maximum visibility. Last month we didn’t make it under 20, so we must put our shoulders to the wheel, our noses to the grindstone and our tentacles to the formiculator, to get the game up the charts.
If you don’t already vote for Fed, please start now. You can cast one vote each day – and it’s important you do it regularly as clockwork, every single day. One more person voting every day adds 30 (ish) votes a month, and that makes all the difference.
Vote for Fed by going to the voting site or going to our front page and clicking the vote button. You can also use the TMC Voting option in the FedTerm front-end – you’ll find it in the Extras menu.
