REAL LIFE NEWS: BECOME A VINYL RECORD AFTER DEATH
by Hazed
There’s a new option available if you want something interesting to happen to your body after death. You can now choose to have your ashes turned into a playable vinyl record.
A company called And Vinyly (groan!) has been in operation in the UK for 8 years. It was launched “just for fun” but people seem to like the idea, so the owner, Jason Leach, has continued in business.
For a cost of $4,000 you get 30 copies of a record, all of which contain the ashes. The records hold 12 minutes per side of sound, which you choose – you can’t use copyrighted music but you could record your own voice leaving a message for your nearest and dearest. You can even pay an extra fee to hire musicians to record music for you.
Another extra is to have cover art painted by artists, unless you want to supply your own.
It seems dying is getting more fun by the day!
