FED IS BACK!
Alan has just pressed the button to fire the game up again - it's back! For the time being you need to tell your front-end to connect to:
serenity.ibgames.com
instead of the usual address. That will be sorted out in the next couple of days.
Our email system is working again now too.
Very important: I posted a bulletin on the website yesterday (Monday) but I wasn't able to send it to the Fed2 Star mailing list. If you haven't read it yet, please go to http://www.ibgames.net/fednews/bulletin/bulletin02.html and read it now, before logging on and before continuing with this bulletin.
PLANETS
The planet maps are all in the game so there is a fully functioning Galaxy out there, but all the economies are starting over from scratch as new agricultural worlds. If you were an Engineer or a Mogul then your exchange will get re-rolled again when you are bumped up the ranks to your former position - see the details below.
HOW TO STOP BEING A GROUNDHOG
If you've read yesterday's bulletin you will know what you need to do to start off:
1) Set up a new account and character with your old character name.
2) Account ID and password do not have to be the same.
3) Log onto the game and buy yourself a ship so you become a Commander - but don't promote any higher than that, please!
We will then bump you up the ranks to your old position and give you enough groats and slithies to replace everything you have lost. We will be operating the honors system - we won't insist on captures, but we will believe you when you tell us what it will take to restore your status. Please don't try to cheat!
EMAIL US THE FOLLOWING...
Please email feedback@ibgames.com and give the following information:
1) Character name
2) Previous rank
3) Groats you need to replace your lost bank balance, and purchase anything you had such as large ships.
4) If you were a company owner, how many groats will compensate you for your company balance, plus the cost of rebuilding your depots and factories.
5) If you were a planer owner, how many groats were in your treasury, plus how many will you need to replace your builds.
6) How many slithies did you have, plus how many will you need to replace lost items such as navcomp upgrades, price checkers, various permits, etc (don't include charms in this - they will be dealt with separately).
You may have to wait a few days to be fully restored because Bella has to write some of the tools needed.
CHARMS
We will be restoring everybody's lost charms and trading cards, but that's going to have to wait a bit. When we have the tools to give you back your lost precious things, we'll also bestow a special Lightning-Strikes-Twice charm to all those who went though this!
